Report
Having gone into the BWCA from the west our first two years, last year we went in from the east and we did it again this year via Grand Marais and EP 69 - temp in GM when we got our canoe was low 30's degrees - we got our canoe in the water with our two packs and fishing gear and off we went for our adventure, having gone inland the temp was not that bad when we hit the water! Our first day was a travel day and we worked our way into West Pike, not the greatest of luck fishing. Up the next day we worked our way into Mountain and at the entry all I could see were small white caps coming at us. Our campsite was a long way up this lake and it turned into a battle of wills. We eventually got there. It was a great site, we were all alone on this lake and worked Pemmican for three days. We had some good luck. Picked up a few on Mountain as well. Worked our way east, spent a night on Moose and worked our way around Fowl back into Little John. A bit of a tough trip, probably a little too much travel for my daughter, but we loved it and will be back again.
