Then we took off towards Ely, picked up Gary, another supervisor at the Y-store/Ledge. Then we stopped in Ely for bait and headed on past to the wolf center. Then on to the Chainsaw sisters,Gary ,me and the kids portaged across the short portage to mudro while my dad BS'ed with the one of the sisters. So we sat and then packed the canoes and decided who was in which canoe... 1st canoe MN 3 me as the bow girl.. Charlie (with a broken arm) in the middle with a kayak paddle... and Alex as the stern boy (best group right there) then in the 2nd canoe the Champlain we put the youngest kids in with my dad... Justin bow boy (little brat)... Eddie in the middle... and my dad in the back... then the 3rd canoe a sundowner... we put the last two in Sam as in the bow and Gary in the stern. We took off with my canoe in the lead.. (stayed that way the whole time we whopped some ass! :)Then went on through... Mudro-fourtown-boot-fairy-gun-gull-Thunder where we stayed. Where we got the best campsite on the whole entire lake.. off to the left were cliffs where we could jump off of into the lake.. then to the right a 6 rod portage to beartrap pretty good fishing lake but only if its cloudy/wavey or after dark. the lake is so clear the fish can see you. On Friday it rained on and off... so we hung around camp. then we came out on Sat. it was a little windy but I've had it way worse. Came back I had refrained from beating on the little loudmouth who was along for the trip... (he complained about everything even the 140 rod portage!) but then we got into the confined area of the church van and we had a little rumble... my dad stopped it before it got too rough. but all in all we had a good trip. nice fish. the kids had a pretty good experience.
