Great campsites, hungry trout, seeing the plenty of wildlife & The Aurora Borealis to boot! What more could you ask for?!?! Well, besides a camera that didn't fall into the lake. ;-)

Glad you all were able to enjoy the trip despite the "flat" portage. For whatever reason, it seems that portage gets downplayed. It's not a death march or anything but, definitely an 8-9 rating. Especially coming from the way you guys did.

Anyways great report & thanks for sharing your story & the photos you were able to take.

Hey.......I was on this trip. What a great experience. This was my first trip to the BWCA. I never new this area existed. Beautiful country. Hey f.o.f.o., I don't know what you were looking at, but that creature that dumped my canoe sure the hell wasn't a mermaid!!!!

Howdy fishonfishoff. Nice to read your trip report. Sounds like you and the boys had some real adventures too. Ha!
Thanks for your kind words about the encounter with me. Maybe some day down the line our paths will cross and we can have that long conversation over a camp fire somewhere.
