Absolutely Great report Maxx! Thank you.

Like you, I enjoyed my first BW trip with my son. Pretty awesome, ain't it? Every trip is a unique adventure, and now that you have experienced some adverse conditions, you have gained knowledge that will serve you well in the future.

Let us know if you post more of your videos at YouTube.

A good read. Maybe the next trip you could take a route through smaller lakes and not have to fight big water.

I'm curious....what does your son say about the trip now that you are home?

I really enjoyed your report.

Very nice report! Thanks for taking the time to share your story & photos. Great area! We did a trip through there last spring.

Lots of good insight in your report. Nice to hear you were able to overcome the adversity Mother Nature dished out & kept a positive attitude to still "live the dream" and get enjoyment out of your trip. Well done!

Running across a spruce grouse is a heart attack waiting to happen! :)

I know, I read a buttload of your portage and camp comments, helped a lot, thanks

Fantastic trip report - really enjoyed it. Hopefully you will get back to canoe country for another adventure.

I do not comment much on trip reports, this is an exception!
Beautiful, funny, entertaining, and well done!
“I have 2 foot whitecaps straight ahead and a 2 foot wake coming in from the left, which one am I worried about most?” The two redeeming qualities of a boat wake are that it’s rhythmic, and it doesn't last long, you can deal with it. Those whitecaps are soulless demons from the darkest pit of hell, you never take your eyes off them, you never know what they're going to do. We pulled paddles as hard as we could for about an hour. Every time I looked at the front of that boat, I thanked God for those 2 sixteen year old shoulders."
Best description of a paddling condition I have read.

Thanks!

That was a great read! Good job keeping a positive attitude with all of the challenges. Knowing exactly where you are and the options are a beautiful thing. I have been on trips it rained every day and enjoyed them very much..when the whtiecaps show up not so much. Thanks for sharing!

We ate there the evening before we hit the water, it was great. It was rib night, we ate at the bar and got some big burgers. Moose Drool, I had been beerless for 48 hours, solved that problem pretty quick.

quote wawasee: "A good read. Maybe the next trip you could take a route through smaller lakes and not have to fight big water." That thought has occurred to me...;-)Not sure I'll do a big lake again

I really enjoyed reading your trip report, maxx. Sort of agree about trying a trip with smaller lakes, but we have been to most of these places, so it was fun to read about your experiences.

By the way . . . .Trail Center is worth the wait. ;-)

Glad you had a good trip, and glad you shared it with us.
