Report
Took advantage of the extra holiday to get in a four day, three night basecamp trip coming in on entry point 37 on Kawashiwi lake. Portaged up to Lake Polly where we camped at #1074. Good sight right off a channel. Bleached moose skull propped on a stump in camp apparently for good luck. Temps were 80+ and sunny each day. Too warm. Very tough fishing, confirmed by regulars we met up with. Caught a 2.5 lb wally which made a shore lunch on one day. Shy of that, we went all over Polly raking the lake with jigs, raps, or bottom bouncers. Black flies were out in force deep into the evening and even morning breakfast.
