It's really great that you can do this stuff with your family. Mine prefer hotels.
I hope this tradition continues for you into the next generations. Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves despite the weather.
BTW, did you get your lure back after snagging the turtle? I once had a 4 foot alligator take my rapala in Louisiana. I got him on shore and he opened his mouth and out flew the lure. I was very happy about that. Thanks for the trip report.

Nice report! Imagine flooded portage trails... seems feast or famine in the precip department. Wonder what that means for our winter?
Cool loon/turtle pics.

Nice report, especially like the moon picture reflecting off the water, the snapping Turtle (that looks like a dinasoaur) and the Family picture at the end. Nice Trip, Nice Report! SunCatcher

TOMT The Rapala was a casualty as the snapper broke my line once he I got him to shore and he could dig his claws into the earth. His 20 or so pounds was no match for my 6 pound test line.

Good report! Thanks. I also love sleeping in a tent in the rain. As long as I was able to get the tent all set up before it rained..
