Trip Introduction:
Hiked into haunted lake from gun lake.

Report

Hiked into haunted lake from gun lake. Went into the forest on the west side of the creek. Hiked into haunted took about an hour and a half, mostly uphill, footing was very uneven with many holes hidden by thick moss. Came across many moose paths before reaching the top of the hill. At the top of the hill is a creepy little pond, marshy around the edges and surrounded by dead trees. Found a moose leg bone at edge of the pond and enough cell signal that the no service indication went away, but still zero bars. Started downhill to the south, terrain became easier on the south side of the hill. Rested on a large rock outcropping on north side of the lake. Observed what I thought were small mouth minnows and other minnows that were very dark, almost black. Had 2 bars of cell service and managed to make a phone call from there. Another person's phone sent a text message saying "Hi" followed by two empty lines to someone in their contact list. The person insists they did not send a text. On the way out we stayed closer to the creek, much easier coming out.
