Thanks for the nice trip report and photos. I've always wanted to visit Cherokee Lake - your report makes it seem like it's not too difficult - so maybe we'll try it next year.

Great report. You and the family deserve a lot of credit for having a great trip despite the weather. The first picture (mid-summertime with hat and gloves on) says it all. We were in Quetico at the exact same time (http://www.bwca.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=trip.report_view&sel_trp_id=1502) and I can verify the tough conditions.

Nice report and thanks for sharing.

We were out of Sawbill two days before you. The day you put in (Tuesday) was a bad one for weather. We had to do some pull throughs that left us wet from the thigh on down, and with the wind strong out of the northwest, plus a report that it barely got over 50 degrees that day, we were very cold....almost first stage hypothermic. We too did a short day...only about 5 miles and pulled into a site on Little Sag. There was no way in our condition with the weather that it was that we were going to tackle the big water on the main part of Little Sag that day.

We quickly boiled up some Gatorade and ate some lunch, then set up tents and slept/warmed up for about 4 hours that afternoon. It was the only day I took no pictures in camp.

Sounds like you had a fun trip!

Thanks again!
