Nice report, great photos--hope it's the first of many visits to Canoe Country.

Great report. It's always nice to see fellow Texans write about their experience in the BWCA. It's such a magical place. The last day is always hard knowing that you will be leaving, that's a good time to start planning your next trip however. What part of Texas are you from? If you drove it's possible we crossed paths as I was driving back from MN on the 23rd and 24th. I spent a week up on the Gunflint Trail.

Sounds like a great trip! Enjoyed reading your report. Sounds like everything was just about perfect for your first trip. That's a rare thing! You even snagged the campsite on Little Caribou! That site is almost always occupied. Someone up above must have been lookin' out for you! :-)

I thoroughly enjoyed your report, especially the photos. We did this trip a long time ago, but we didn't get the campsite on Little Caribou at that time. (Did have it on a subsequent trip, however.) Your report made me feel almost like I was there with you--and that is the kind of trip report I enjoy. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you return to the BWCA.

Paddling a long time into the wind and rain...you will surely remeber that for a while to come!
Nice write up! Thank you.

I couldn't wait for success, so I went ahead without it!
