Thank you for the report to an often-unvisited (or unwritten-about) lake. I haven't been in there since the fire, so it's nice to hear and see a report on it. I might just have to head back there...the fishing can be good. :)

Thanks for the report about a place you never hear much about. I've often thought it would be good for what you suggested, but wondered how it was . . .

Thanks for the new update and sorry...Arghh...we did a day clearing trip on May 19, without any new treefalls on the portage trail. The first .25 mile outside the bwca had been brush mowed back. So there was just some interior brushing. I saw the damage of the June / July storms over on Isabella River and PWT where the same spring trail clearing was all undone. Hoping the FS brought a saw to cut those big trees. I’m curious about the names you gave these 8 obstacles?

I usually do day fishing trips to Bog during the summer and I usually don’t see anyone else. At times the deer flies can be deadly along with the mosquitoes and that’s just in the parking lot! Several times I’ve had to do some trail clearing on the portage. There use to be several nice sites on the lake but were burned in the fire. Only one has been rehabilitated. The site you stayed at is the best one. Good walleye fishing and sometimes decent pike fishing as well. A real hidden gem in my opinion.

That area can be the worst mosquito area in the BWCA-yes I do like that lake for day trips and yes it did have some very nice campsites. If you were real adventurous and good with a compass you could walk thru the woods and you would hit a old logging road. That is all burnt now and was getting over grown anyhow.

I have to admit I would return for the solitude and fishing (did not fish on this trip), but not in July.

Nice report, thanks for sharing. I've researched this lake a few times for long weekends, but the lack of options has always kept me away.

From lake toward parking lot: silky big boy, the reach around, how's your father, limbo, oh boy, 6 is just 6, motherfucker, and the canopy.

Years ago I use to find blueberries along the southwest shore before the last fires. Been a while since I have been there and I know some of the campsites are closed now.Use to be good for eater size walleyes.
