Great report! My son and I were on Duncan the same week--we were staying on that point campsite before you moved over to it. Worst heat we've ever experienced on an August BWCA trip...

Nice report. I went in a week later (earlier than I usually go) and it was still hot and buggy. Sounds like you enjoyed the trip nonetheless. That's quite a view in the pictures from your hike. I'm going to have to put that area on my list.

bwcasolo - Nice trip report! I agree - the weather during the last week in August was way warmer than normal. We, too, entered on August 26th - on Knife Lake. I remember feeling exhausted just from the heat. We spent quite a bit of time in the water (much warmer than usual) during the hottest part of the day. Thanks for sharing.
