Thanks for looking at and reading my ramblings! Some of the pictures did not fully load so there are some boxes you can "click on" to see the pictures. Also here is a link to the photo album if you wish to view them. I will be adding more as time goes on! Snow Bay 2012

Nice report; thanks for sharing! I am glad your wife was able to make the trip, and it sounds like all went well with her.

As you know, I was in the same are around the same time (I put in 3 days later), and that was a hot, windy few days. Glad you got some fish; I was too chicken to go out alone in the wind.

I live in Apple Valley (about 45 minutes north of Owatonna), so if you ever need a place to crash before or after a trip, please do not hesitate to as.

Also, if you do go back to Ely for a local trip, I recommend staying at the Adventure Inn. They've got room with kitchens, prices are reasonable and the folks running the place are top notch.

Great report and nice pictures. Sounds like you have a great bow partner at least every other year. :) Great idea to spend time in Ely next time. Are you sure that was poison ivy or an itch to come back again? :) Hope your doing better and staying cool enough.

Good report Bruce. I remember you saying you would be there about the same time that we were and you were perhaps thinking of going to the interior lakes from LaCroix. Thought maybe we would see you somewhere during the course of our trip. We were in Sat 6.23 and out Fri. 6.29. I also posted a trip report "EP14 exit EP16" with pictures. Perhaps another year. Thanks for previous information you have provided. Bob

Nice report Bruce,

Great to hear that Kim was able to enjoy the wonders of canoe country yet again. Especially after the ordeal she had to overcome. Many happy returns.

Bummer about the poison ivy. At least you got to enjoy some quality time before having to pull the plug.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story & photos.

Well, looks like we JUST missed you. We spent Saturday night at The Paddle Inn, just down the road from VNO. But we were still sleeping when you left in the morning! It was 8:30 AM when we were about to leave town but realized we had a problem with our alternator! lol That story is in my trip report. We had just gotten back from Moose Lake.

I did enjoy your report. We also want to spend more time getting to know Ely better. Even living closer in the Twin Cities we don't spend enough time there. Since it is only 4 1/2 hours to drive home, we just book it back to home not daring to stop anywhere as we smell so bad! When we were younger it wasn't unusual to get home at midnight or later. That's getting harder to do nowadays!

Very nice report. Bummer about the poison ivy. That stuff is the worst! Years ago when my son was young me and my wife took him to Ely in our pop up camper staying on Farm Lake (Timber Trails Resort campground). There's lots to see and do.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the trip report Bruce, too bad about the Poison Ivy and thumb. Very nice to meet you both at Cabella's. Thanks again for the summer sausage, it tasted great.

Sorry Bruce but there are no pictures in this link??? I was talking about the second link you posted Snow Bay 2012. Also some of the pictures on your main trip report are only ? marks. No idea what that means.

Gary,
For some reason when i downloaded some of my pictures to my trip report only small blue boxes appeared. I could click on the box and the picture would load and show. The other link i posted in the first comment should take you to my photo journal for the trip, or it does when I click it. Otherwise, I guess you can go to the photo page and look up my photos... Sorry for the confusion!
