Sawbill Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Tofte Ranger Station near the city of Tofte, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 25 miles. Access is a boat landing at Sawbill Lake. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Enjoyed this. You picked a perfect route to introduce the kids. I've heard the bugs are super outrageous this year. But I hope they still enjoyed it and want to go back.

We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.

Thank you for taking the time to share your adventure. It is much appreciated. And great job introducing your kids to the wonders of wilderness. I like how you guys rolled with 'the punches', which is key when bringing young ones. Sounded like a great trip that will serve ably as the foundation to many more.
