For some reason all of my pictures did not show, so if you want to see them you will have to click the little boxes located near the pictures that are shown. Enjoy!

Good report, Bruce. Sounds like you had a good time in spite of some challenges. Sometimes being windbound can be sort of a good way to relax, as you said. Glad to hear that Kim's shoulder survived the paddling and that you had a successful trip overall.

This wasn't our first canoe trip area, but it was our first BWCA trip area. We went back in 2006 to this area (I just posted a report from that trip a couple weeks ago), but haven't been there in a long time. It was nice to travel there this afternoon with you. Thanks.

I was surprised by that Saturday 35E shut down. I camped at my friend’s place in Columbus that Friday night. If I had known it was going to happen, I would have gone to Forest Lake and taken Hwy 61 home. I got routed down 35W and had to put on many extra miles.

I had a trip like that a couple of years ago with my daughter. We hung out on the island most days - she got to swim and I fished from shore so that was fine, but we did not have the trip we envision. Just made me want to go back more.

Nice report. Thanks for sharing. One of our favorite days ever in the bwca with my wife was on our second trip together. We were wind bound and laid in the hammock together all day. It was not what we planned but it was just what we needed.
