Entry Point 69 - John Lake

John Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Gunflint Ranger Station near the city of Grand Marais, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 69 miles. Access from Little John Lake. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

We had 8 persons go in 2009 4 canoes. We have 3 groups of 8 going at different times this year we head north to W pike and then to E pike This entry point is at the far east side of BWCA. You may see only 2 to 4 people until you pass to the next lake(clear water) this does get used a lot but not all at once if you head north you will by pass the major route that more people use to get into Pine lake.
