Entry Point 37 - Kawishiwi Lake

Kawishiwi Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Tofte Ranger Station near the city of Isabella; Tofte, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 33 miles. Access is a boat landing at Kawishiwi Lake.

Liked your report! I appreciate your writing style--sounds just like the kind of trips I enjoy. Next time, it would be fun to see any pictures, if you got 'em, as well. Did you check out Devil's Cascade? If not, put it on your list for if you ever get back to that area again.

Thanks for the kind words. I did get some photos up now - just didn't have time when I posted the report.


We did skip Devil's Cascade. It was on our radar, but on the way in we were just so focused on getting a good site - with a group of 7, we always feel like we may be kind of limited on sites so we want to get to our destination lake as quickly as possible to have the best chance for the better sites. We thought about day tripping there the next day, but laziness won out. And on the way out, we had no time to spare. Some day...
