Entry Point 23 - Mudro Lake

Mudro Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Kawishiwi Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 19 miles. Three accesses into Mudro Lake involve portages ranging from 20–185 rods.Easiest access is from private la nd with parking fee.

Thanks for the Trip Report Rugbyguy! I enjoyed reading it. I am glad you and your crew had a great trip. Do you think the rookie will go again? Was it what he expected? Those were a couple of nice walleyes you guys caught. The weather sounded like it was perfect.

The campsite was very nice. Had two nice tent pads with lots of room to wander. I didn't connect with any fish on a bobber from shore, but I think that would be a real possibility. I wouldn't be opposed to camping there on a future trip.


Zulu, I think the rookie will give it another go at some point. A little more leisurely pace on the entry day and he would have been just fine. Still held up well.

I can't beleive those two stayed in the tent with pancakes cooking the first morning on the lake! I don't care if it was in the 30's and early..lol Thanks for sharing!

Freshwater is delicious! Saltwater not so much..
