Enjoyed your report. The picture of your kids on your Profile looks like they'd like to join in soon.

Todd, great little trip report. How were the portages along the way from Polly to Phoebe? I remember falling in at a beaver dam along that route. Glad to hear your wife loves the portages. :)

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the trip report. Sounds like it was a good trip for you and your wife. Think she became as mesmerized by the place as you?

Thanks everyone for reading!

Sevenofnine reminded me today that I forgot to mention the huge boulder field between Hazel and Knight on the way to Phoebe. That was tough, especially while hungry! Glad it was warm and sunny because we spent a good 20 minutes wading through waist-deep rocky water towing the canoe! The forest service really needs to put a portage around that!

I think my wife really does love it up there now. She's the kind of person that needs to truly experience and then appreciates, and it's happening in the BWCA.

My kids love to canoe and camp - it's just a matter of my wife being okay with the extra "work" it is to wilderness camp with young kids, but I think she is considering more. We did a short 2-night base camp at Duncan last Labor Day with them.
